Growing Rhubarb Victoria from seed

1. Some gardeners soak the seeds for a few hours before planting but it's not necessarily required to do so to get your seeds to germinate.
2. Plant your seeds 1" below the soil surface when potting or planting directly in the garden. Planting seeds in pots is recommended first.
3. Rhubarb seeds will take about 2-3 weeks to germinate.
4. If you planted your seeds in pots or flats you can move your plants into the garden after they have reached about 3-4" tall and you've hardened them off before planting in the garden.
5. After you harden off your plants, plant your new rhubarb plants about 36"-48" away from one another since rhubarb plants grow quite large.
6. Do not harvest during the first years growth. You can begin to harvest a little the second year and the third year you can harvest heavily.
